Free things to do in London

London is fabulous yet pricey, but if you do some research, you'll find there are actually places worth checking out for a pence. Insiders in this article give you suggestions on free historical sites, free shows, free walk around neighborhoods. Now it's up to you to get organized.

One can discover more places to visit in London past the undeniable tourist sights. Here are a few suggestions:

1. The Old Operating Theater Museum. This is cheap and dazzling. You slither up a little twisting staircase to a loft brimming with quirky things. The working theater itself is pretty much as it would have been numerous years back and is one of its kind.

Close to London Bridge. Also adjacent, stroll over to Winston Churchills Britain at War Experience. Pass by the overpriced and swarmed London Dungeon and it's fair steps away. Cheap and fun. Also, stay away from the Clink Prison Museum as it is only a few void rooms and you could experience it in under 5 minutes -- not justified regardless of the trouble or money.

2. Jack the Ripper London. While the strolls are cheap and great, you can without much of a stretch guide it yourself. Everybody knows the story and you can discover the spots of enthusiasm on any guide: Miter Square, Durward Street, Hanbury Street, Goulston, it's all there. Spitalfields Market also has some beautiful glassworks and things to purchase.

3. Historical center of London (free) and adjacent St Pauls for (free) evensong. Opposite St Pauls is a decent place for great burgers at Gourmet Burger Kitchen (around £10/each for burger and shake).

4. Hunterian Museum in Lincoln Inn Fields is free and a super diversion for all ages. Many jugs of therapeutic cured organs or different kinds (human and creature). Incredible piece of learning and interest. You can invest hours here! Lincoln Inn Fields also is a decent place for a picnic and now and again they have metal groups in the bandstand. Speaking of, you can also locate the Old Curiosity Shop (a'la Dickens) close-by.

5. Walk the Southbank. You can view the Globe Theater, Tate Modern, London Eye, discover the bookstalls under Waterloo Bridge. Awesome views and decent safe area for a walk. Picture ideal for travelers. You can see St Pauls, Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, and so on at the same time. Traverse Westminster Bridge for a walk towards Buckingham Palace and past Westminster Abbey. Abstain from going straight up Victoria Street as you pass by West Abbey as it's filthy and loaded with vagrants.

Take a turn and stroll close to Green Park/Birdcage Walk towards Palace (and you may need to visit the Churchill Museum and Cabinet War Rooms and the end of Green Park). This will take you close to 10 Downing/New Scotland Yard, and so on. Get an A-Z London mapbook -- it's priceless!

6. Dr. Johnsons House and the Old Cheshire Cheese on Fleet Street. Little back streets off Fleet are the place you can test old London as it would have appeared to be many years prior. Interesting how you can kill a cutting edge street and feel transported shortly. If you are a Da Vinci buff, go see the Temple Church (free) where a noteworthy scene was shot.

7. If you spend out way a lot of money to see Madame Tussauds, also go to close-by Sherlock Holmes Museum if that piques you. It's cheap and is beautifully laid out.

8. If you like art and decent neighborhoods, head over to Chelsea and visit the Saatchi Gallery on Kings Road then stroll up to the Natural History/Science/V&A Museums all alongside one another. All free and extraordinary area. Grab some Krispy Kremes at Harrods for a nibble in the park.

Mainly, there are a great many things to do in London which don't require a major wallet. Simply scan for them, find them online, and go take a look. The rest of the fun stuff is up to you.
